Gamescom 2026's Opening Night Live delivered nearly two hours of reveals, trailers and surprise announcements from studios across the industry.
Hosted by Geoff Keighley, the show touched on nearly every corner of gaming, from long-running franchises getting new entries to fresh IP nobody saw coming. Big names like The Witcher 3, Gears of War: E-Day and Final Fantasy all made appearances, alongside dozens of smaller reveals that gave the show real range.
What got revealed at Gamescom 2026 ONL?
Here's the full rundown of everything that was announced during Opening Night Live.
Nodus Fall: Hoyoverse, the studio behind Genshin Impact, is releasing a new co-op action game centered on fast-paced combat, teamwork, and epic battles against giant monsters, reminiscent of Capcom’s Monster Hunter.
Rainbow Six Tactics: Ubisoft has announced a new turn-based tactics game set in the Rainbow Six universe. This single-player title lets players take charge of an elite Rainbow squad across a range of tactical missions. Rainbow Six Tactics is set to launch in 2027 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and cloud gaming platforms.
Gears of War: E-Day: A new trailer dives deeper into Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago’s first encounter with the Locust, set 14 years before the original trilogy. It also introduces a new Locust leader, stepping into the role of the game’s main antagonist.
Ananta: A free-to-play open-world game that blends the GTA-style urban sandbox with an anime twist, finally has a release date. Publisher NetEase and developer Naked Rain revealed it will launch worldwide on January 15, 2027, for PC, PlayStation 5, and mobile devices.
Silent Hill Townfall: Konami has dropped a new trailer revealing the English cast. It features Terry O’Quinn as Richard, Jovan Adepo as main character Simon Ordell, and Kezia Burrows as Zoe, along with glimpses of creepy new monsters and eerie scenes from St. Amelia. The game is set to launch on September 24, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy: Fresh gameplay trailer ahead of its release this week
Sea of Remnants: NetEase Games and Joker Studio have revealed a free-to-play ocean-fantasy RPG with open-world exploration and dynamic turn-based combat, and will launch its closed beta in December 2026. The game is being developed for Windows PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS, and Android.
Crimson Desert Enhanced: It features new story moments and cutscenes, along with expanded voice-overs and additional language support. Plus, it’s now on sale across all formats.
Tides of Annihilation: Trailer revealing new story details and gameplay. It also confirms Resident Evil Requiem Actress Angela Sant'Albano as the new voice of Gwendolyn.
Lofsong: Art-driven exploration puzzle adventure announced for console and PC. It’s the debut project from Unrelated Studio, a creative team based in Turin, Italy.
Mega Man Dual Overdrive: Launching in 2027, with a crossover Pragmata skin planned.
Rayman Legends Retold: Launching October 1.
PUBG Dead Net: It’s a first-person tactical shooter with roguelite elements, and pre-registration for the Closed Beta is now open.
Control Resonant: An impressive new gameplay trailer highlights the game's combat system.
The Blood of the Dawnwalker: Trailer revealing story details and third-person action gameplay.
Game of Thrones: War for Westeros: A new gameplay trailer has dropped for the upcoming real‑time strategy game set to launch in early 2027. The highlight of the reveal is the confirmation of 8 playable heroes: Robb Stark, Jon Snow, Ghost, Grey Wind, Jaime Lannister, Tywin Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, and the Night King.
Dust Origins: New isometric action game from Airship Syndicate.
Exodus: New trailer introducing a talking octopus character named Salt, releasing April 7, 2027.
Warlock: A Dungeons & Dragons-inspired video game is set to launch in 2027 for PC and consoles, with 10 minutes of Dragon’s Dogma-style gameplay revealed. The footage offers a great look at the main protagonist, Tasha, voiced by none other than Maggie Robertson, the same actress who brought Orin the Red to life in Baldur’s Gate 3 and portrayed Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village.
1001 Threads of Mizan: Action-adventure set within the rich world of One Thousand and One Nights. Will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
Silver Palace: House of Greed: Anime-style open-world action RPG. Currently in development for PC, mobile, and PlayStation 5.
Monster Hunter Outlanders: The mobile spin-off has dropped a new trailer, showcasing its original monster — the Elder Dragon “Ruger Aidal.” Pre-registration is now open.
Metro 2039: A cinematic story trailer has dropped ahead of the February 2027 release. Developers say this sequel will be the most ambitious chapter in the franchise yet. Players will step into the role of a new protagonist called The Wanderer, embarking on a journey through treacherous underground tunnels and the hazardous radioactive surface.
Hitman World of Assassination – The Herbalist: Free DLC featuring Snoop Dogg, launching August 27
Aion 2: MMORPG coming on October 5 on PC
Afterworld: A post-apocalyptic grand strategy game where wasteland tribes compete for control of a procedurally generated North America. According to game director Dan Lind, it’s Paradox Development Studio’s first non-historical setting in a decade, designed to be their most “easy to learn” and “approachable” title yet.
Petit Planet: HoYoverse’s first life simulation game, where players take on the role of a Planet Tender tasked with developing and maintaining their own world. Will launch globally in Winter 2026 for PC, iOS, and Android with cross-platform support. Pre-registration is already open.

1666: Amsterdam: New trailer ahead of its early access release today.
Showa American Story: Action RPG from Chinese developer NEKCOM Games, launching on PS5 and PC this year. The latest trailer follows protagonist Chigusa Choko as she travels through California, introducing a colorful cast of companions for her cross-country adventure, including Michael Hero, Bubba, and the enigmatic Mutsuki Akitora.
Road Kings: New trailer packed with trucking action.
Stage Tour: Guitar Hero-style music game with a new look at setlists and modes, launching December 10.
Crazy Taxi: Multiplayer reveal trailer.
Turok Origins: Saber revealed a new cinematic trailer featuring both first-person and third-person combat. Releasing for PS5, PC, Switch 2, Xbox Series in Spring 2027.
Gravehounds: Furry shooter with a gameplay trailer ahead of its launch. Enter Early Access on PC and XBOX on November 2.
LEGO Skylines: Reveal trailer for a brick-based city builder.
Transport Fever 3: Transport tycoon game launching September 29 on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.
Exterminauts: Level Infinite and Behaviour Interactive have revealed a new third-person co-op PvE shooter, set to launch in 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Path of Exile: Full 1.0 release on December 11, remaining free-to-play.
Heroes of Might and Magic 3 Remake: 1990's popular turn-based strategy video revealed a cinematic trailer showcasing updated graphics and presentation, along with several quality-of-life improvements. Planned for 2027 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
No Law: Cyberpunk-style first-person shooter releases in 2027 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
Project Zeta: New team-based MOBA revealed.
Cinder City: Open-world cinematic third-person shooter available to wishlist now.
Ontos: Creepy first-person sci-fi mystery thriller from Frictional Games and Kepler Interactive, launching in 2027.
Pony Island 2 - Panda Circus: From acclaimed indie developer Daniel Mullins, follow-up to 2016's cult arcade game. Launching April 27, 2027.
Zoopunk: A third-person action RPG set in TiGames' Animal Punk universe.
There Are No Ghosts at the Grand: A narrative-driven, first-person video game launching December 2026 in early access. It will feature Billy Boyd of The Lord of the Rings fame as MacBrushy, a talking and singing Scottish power tool.
Roco Kingdom: A Chinese Pokémon-style-world game with 15 million players is gearing up for a global launch, with a trailer confirming a closed beta test starting on October 27.
The Defiant: A single-player narrative FPS set against the Chinese front of World War II.
Tarae the Unbound: Krafton has revealed a top-down action RPG with a Diablo-like vibe. Created by Boundary, it takes place in a dark fantasy world inspired by Eastern myths and folklore. Playing as one of six Seekers, your goal is to restore the cycle of reincarnation, which naturally involves cutting through waves of enemies.
Like or Die: Quirky social media battle royale announced
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation: The new cinematic trailer showcases 3 Weapons: Ruby Weapon, Emerald Weapon, and Ultima Weapon, along with Tifa sporting the Black Mage class outfit, inside the submarine with the Huge Materia, the team parachuting from the Highwind, riding chocobos, and more. The game is still slated for a Spring 2027 launch.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered: Launching on Sept. 29 as a free upgrade for owners on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It features a host of improvements: smoother combat, UI upgrades, a revamped skill tree, an expanded photo mode, new finishing moves, and major graphical enhancements including upgraded textures, lighting, and ray tracing. The remaster will also debut on Nintendo Switch 2 and Battle.net the same day. Plus, CD Projekt Red is making the two expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, free starting Tuesday.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past: This will likely be the last big content update for the game, as CD Projekt RED is already focused on developing its sequel, The Witcher 4. Geralt will wield a new weapon, a chain, and the DLC will act as a bridge between The Witcher 3 and the next chapter, marking the moment he passes the mantle to Ciri.
