Grow a Garden Breaks New Record With Over 22 Million Players After Massive Admin War Update

Grow a Garden, Roblox’s breakout farming simulator, has done it again. On August 23, 2025, the game hit a new peak of 22,346,725 concurrent players, according to data from Romonitor stats.

This figure surpasses its previous record of 21.33 million set back in June, cementing its position as the biggest single-game player count in history.

The record coincides with the release of the Admin War Update, one of the game’s biggest content drops, featuring a live in-game event, new farming mechanics, pets, seeds, and community-driven activities.

The Admin Abuse War Event

At the center of the update is the week-long Admin War, a live spectacle where Grow a Garden creator Jandel is facing off against Sammy Spyder, the developer of Steal a Brainrot. Players experienced wild admin powers, game-breaking antics, and surprise twists, while also unlocking exclusive cosmetics and cryptic lore teases from the mysterious Elder Bean NPC.

The event ran alongside the much-anticipated Beanstalk Part 2 expansion, keeping servers packed.

New Pets With Unique Powers

The update also introduced eight quirky companions, each adding gameplay depth with passive effects that influence crops, mutations, or cooldowns. Highlights include:

Elk (Skyroot Chest): 2.54% chance to preserve berry fruits after collection.
Mandrake (Skyroot Chest): 3.57% chance to apply the Rot mutation when harvesting mandrakes.
Gnome (Friendship Shop): Randomly causes “Gnomed” mutations, with higher chances if gnome-themed cosmetics are present.
Griffin (Skyroot Chest): Summons a Cyclone every 15 minutes to reset cooldowns and mutate fruits.
Lemon Lion (Admin War): Dual skills — mutates fruits with Brainrot or grants bonus pet XP.
Apple Gazelle (Admin War): Duplicates apple harvests while adding Sugar Warp mutations.
Peach Wasp (Admin War): Pollinates fruits, plasmafies them, and reduces pet cooldowns.
Green Bean (Admin War): Sacrifices a Beanstalk fruit every 29 minutes to instantly grow a plant with a massive 5.13x size boost.

New Crops and Farming Systems

Alongside pets, six new crops were added, each with unique traits and profit potential. These include Cyclamen, Calla Lily, Flare Melon, Glowpod, Willowberry, and Crown of Thorns. The update also introduced:

A new Friendship Shop tab and crafting station atop the Beanstalk.
A pet achievement tracker in the Garden Guide.
Gear to remove mutations from pets.
Event-exclusive cosmetics and hidden developer rewards.

Roblox Platform Record Also Broken

Beyond the in-game record, the update helped Roblox itself hit a staggering 47,296,412 concurrent users across the platform. This number not only surpasses the game’s individual milestones but also breaks the global record for most concurrent users on any gaming platform, topping Steam’s previous all-time high of 41.2 million.
