According to leakers SpushFNBR and Loolo (via VICE), the upcoming cosmetic is called Winter Miku, and it appears to be themed around the Vocaloid star’s annual appearance at Japan’s Sapporo Winter Festival.

The leak surfaced on November 11, sparking immediate excitement among fans who have been waiting for another Miku crossover. If the reports are accurate, Winter Miku will debut during Fortnite’s Winterfest 2025 event, which is expected to begin around December 20, based on last year’s schedule.

Of course, event dates can shift slightly, so players should expect the skin to drop sometime in mid‑December. What isn’t clear yet is whether Winter Miku will be tied to holiday quests or sold directly in the shop. Either way, it looks like we’ll all have a chance to add another Miku outfit to our collections before the year ends.

This isn’t the first time Fortnite has teamed up with Hatsune Miku. The virtual singer previously headlined the Season 7 Music Pass in Chapter 6, quickly becoming one of the most popular cosmetics in the game. Many of us still remember lobbies filled with her “Miku Beam” emote.

Unfortunately, older Music Pass skins remain locked for those who didn’t unlock them at the time. Epic Games hasn’t reintroduced them in the shop, though there’s always a chance they could return in the future.

For anyone unfamiliar, Hatsune Miku is a virtual idol created by Crypton Future Media in 2007. Her voice is based on Japanese actress Saki Fujita, and she’s become a global phenomenon through hologram concerts, collaborations with artists like Pharrell Williams, and appearances at events such as Coachella 2024. With millions of fans worldwide, her presence in Fortnite feels like a natural fit.

Looking at Fortnite’s history, Epic tends to reintroduce high‑demand collaboration skins every 6 to 12 months. Given Miku’s popularity, it’s safe to say Winter Miku will be one of the most sought‑after cosmetics of the season.

If you’re a fan, keep an eye on the shop refresh around December 20; we’ll likely be dropping into battle royale with Winter Miku very soon.
