Kai Cenat has officially confirmed the start date and timing for Mafiathon 3, his final and most ambitious subathon yet. The streaming event will kick off on September 1, 2025, with Fortnite expected to play a central role following Cenat’s recent Icon Series skin reveal.
The announcement came through a cinematic trailer released on YouTube, which has already surpassed 1 million views in just 48 hours.
The short film-style trailer even features Hollywood actor Michael B. Jordan (known for Creed and Black Panther), who makes a bold dare to Cenat: if the streamer reaches one million subscribers during Mafiathon 3, he must cut his hair.
The new trailer also features streaming personalities like 2xRaKai and rayasianboy, packed with easter eggs, including a “Streamer University 2026” painting.
Mafiathon 3 was first teased on August 19 at the Las Vegas Sphere, where Cenat’s Fortnite Icon Series skin was unveiled. This subathon seems to be part of the announcement or a way to build excitement for the skins.
Kai Cenat’s Subathon Legacy
For those unfamiliar, Cenat has been running his Mafiathon series since 2023. Much like other subathons, it involves streaming live for extended periods to boost subscriptions. However, Cenat has taken the format further with high production values, creative content schedules, and celebrity cameos, setting his events apart from typical marathon streams.
Mafiathon 1 (2023): Established the concept, with Kai experimenting with around-the-clock live content. Break Ninja’s previous record of 269,154 subs (set in 2018) with a new 300,000-subscriber record of becoming the most-subscribed streamer on Twitch at the time.
Mafiathon 2 (2024): Broke Twitch records, peaking at 623,363 viewers and achieving over 720,000 subscribers, the highest ever at the time. Guest spots from Snoop Dogg, Miranda Cosgrove, Bill Nye, and more. Viral antics like fireworks battles indoors and surprise raids on smaller streamers.
Now, Mafiathon 3 is being billed as “The Final Chapter.” With his Twitch following climbing close to 19 million, expectations are sky-high.
