Kai Cenat is making his presence felt again.

The Twitch superstar has officially revealed that Streamer University is making a comeback, with applications now open for the class of 2026.

The announcement came on June 8, when Kai dropped a cinematic trailer on social media alongside a link to the program's official website.

What Exactly Is Streamer University?

For those who missed last year's run, Streamer University is a live creator event where up-and-coming streamers get to learn, grow, and broadcast their experience to a live audience. Think part campus life, part content bootcamp, and part entertainment spectacle.

The inaugural edition was held at the University of Akron in Ohio from May 22 to 25, 2025. It brought together 120 rising streamers for a packed weekend of lectures, content creation, and live broadcasting on Twitch. Participants lived on campus and streamed their daily routines, turning the entire experience into a multi-channel event for viewers worldwide.

Big names showed up to lead sessions too. Professors at last year's event included DDG, Agent 00, Duke Dennis, and ChrisnNxtDoor, among others. The closing night capped things off with a surprise pre-recorded video appearance from Drake, who publicly praised Cenat's vision for the event.

The Numbers Were Massive

According to TwitchTracker, over 1,000 Twitch channels broadcast content from the event. Peak concurrent viewership hit 719,000 on both the opening and closing days. Total watch hours across the event crossed 27 million.

Why This Announcement Means So Much

Kai Cenat has been away from his regular streaming schedule for a while now. He last streamed on his own Twitch channel on October 1, 2025, stepping back after years of nonstop content. He has made occasional appearances online and taken part in select broadcasts, but a full return has not happened yet.

Streamer University 2026 signals that Kai is not done building. This is one of the biggest moves he has made since stepping back, and it is a clear indicator that the project has grown into something that extends beyond any single stream.

Who Can Apply?

The program is accepting applications across three categories, so this is not just for streamers.

  1. Students are there to learn and develop their content creation skills through the program.

  2. Professors can apply to teach classes based on their area of expertise and share knowledge with the incoming class.

  3. Club Directors will be responsible for organizing and leading various campus clubs throughout the event.

The application process is handled through the official website at streameruniversity.com. Here is a breakdown of what the application covers.

Cameraman Policy

Applicants can request a cameraman, but approval is handled on a case-by-case basis. Travel costs for cameramen are not covered by the program, as they are not a requirement for participation. Cameramen are under strict supervision and are not permitted to create their own content during the event. Any violation of this rule will result in both the student and cameraman being removed and banned from future events.

What Comes Next?

Kai has not yet confirmed how many students will be accepted for the 2026 class or when the event will officially take place. But with applications now open, the timeline is clearly moving forward.

If the first edition is anything to go by, Streamer University 2026 has a very high bar to clear and every reason to clear it.
