Krafton is preparing to host two large-scale BGMI tournaments in the second half of 2025.
While the exact dates and venues remain under wraps, reports suggest that an official announcement will be made soon, with insiders confirming that “the roadmap is already finalized.”
These events are expected to roll out after September, following the conclusion of the ongoing BGMI Masters Series 2025.
According to TalkEsport, one of the tournaments is likely to be the much-awaited revival of the BGMI Showdown, a fan-favorite short-format invitational that was last held in 2022.
The other event has not yet been identified, but it is expected to follow closely behind the Masters Series, giving players and fans little breathing room between major competitions.
The timing of these tournaments is particularly interesting because Krafton recently postponed its ambitious BGMI Franchise League, which was being modeled after the IPL (Indian Cricket League). The league was intended to offer long-term slots for organizations, big-name sponsorships, and large-scale venues.
However, as per reports, the reception to franchise slots fell short of expectations, forcing Krafton to shelve the plan — at least for now.
Despite the setback, Krafton has already made 2025 a packed year for BGMI esports. The BGMI India Series (BGIS) kicked off the season in January, with its finals taking place in April. The Pro Series (BMPS) followed during the summer, and now the Masters Series (BGMS) with Nodwin Gaming is keeping fans glued to their screens.
With two more tournaments lined up before the year closes, Krafton is clearly pushing hard to keep BGMI at the forefront of India’s gaming scene.
