KreekCraft Hints at Quitting Roblox Once GTA 6 Launches

Popular Roblox YouTuber and streamer KreekCraft (17+ million subscribers) sparked major discussion in the Roblox community this week after stating he could walk away from the platform if his upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI content succeeds.
On August 11, 2026, responding to questions about a weak month for subscriber growth, KreekCraft posted:
“I stopped streaming all the big Roblox games. Most streams this month have been Minecraft or something other than Roblox. My focus right now is getting ready for GTA 6. If it comes out and does well, I’ll be leaving Roblox entirely.”
He later clarified in another post:
“I’m very fortunate to be in a position where I could quit YT tomorrow and still be set for life. What I do now is just for the love of the game. So if GTA 6 comes out and it’s fun and does well, then I plan on shifting over. We’ll see what happens though.”
After the tweets blew up on X/Twitter, KreekCraft addressed the situation properly in a YouTube video titled "Am I Quitting Roblox?" and walked things back a bit. He clarified he isn't leaving the platform right now. Instead, he's putting more energy into his secondary channel, where he covers more mature content, and plans to lean further into GTA VI-style content if the series performs well with audiences.
KreekCraft also explained that several games on Roblox no longer excite him in the same way they once did. He used Animal Hospital as one example, saying that its gameplay can become repetitive after a relatively short period.
A major part of his frustration comes from how he believes Roblox has changed over the years. KreekCraft said that the platform once felt more community-focused. He remembered a period when Roblox staff interacted more directly with creators and players. He also recalled Roblox hosting community events and play sessions.
In his view, that atmosphere has changed. He believes the Roblox community has become more toxic and less welcoming. He also criticized what he sees as increasingly corporate decisions from Roblox itself.
KreekCraft pointed to several changes that have frustrated him, including the removal of classic faces, changes to the platform's terminology, and the way Roblox presents itself to users.
He also argued that many modern Roblox games feel heavily optimized around algorithms rather than creativity.
For him, older titles such as Phantom Forces, Jailbreak, Piggy, and Doors represented a period when new Roblox games could still feel surprising. Each title offered something different and showed what developers could accomplish on the platform.
Today, he feels many games follow similar formulas. That lack of variety is one of the biggest reasons he has struggled to stay interested.
With GTA VI shaping up to be one of the biggest gaming releases in recent memory, major names beyond the Roblox scene are already getting ready for it.
Rockstar has been building anticipation with an "Extended Look" premiere set for August 27, 2026, debuting on Netflix.
Plenty of streamers on Twitch and YouTube, including Kai Cenat, Valkyrae, MoistCr1TiKaL, Jynxzi, and TimTheTatman, have already announced plans to dedicate serious airtime to the game when it launches. Now, KreekCraft has also joined the list.
GTA VI is scheduled to arrive on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
