Come 2026, don’t expect Lewis Hamilton on the F1 track—he’ll be stuck in Vice City traffic instead.

Yes, you heard that right! Formula 1 superstar has made it clear—when Grand Theft Auto VI finally drops, everything else in his life takes a back seat.

Speaking to fans ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix on July 27, the seven-time world champion didn’t hide his excitement for Rockstar’s next big title.

“I’m a big gamer. I play a lot of Call of Duty, but I enjoy Assassin’s Creed, Gran Turismo,” he said. “I’m dying for the new Grand Theft Auto to come out. GTA 6! Yeah, that’s the one I’m waiting for. I’ll have to cancel all my work when that game comes out.”

Hamilton’s gaming passion isn’t new, but it’s rare to see a world-class athlete openly planning around a video game launch.

Fortunately for him, GTA 6’s release lands during a break in the F1 calendar—right after the Canadian Grand Prix and before the Monaco Grand Prix—giving him a window to dive into Rockstar’s highly anticipated title, which is scheduled for May 26, 2026.

Hamilton’s ready to trade in his F1 car for a stolen sports car—are you? Tell us how you're prepping for GTA 6 in the comments!
