A new detail in Grand Theft Auto 6’s second trailer has caught the attention of fans — and it’s been hiding in plain sight for months.
When Rockstar Games released the second trailer for GTA 6 along with nearly 100 new screenshots, it set the internet on fire with speculation. Most fans were busy analyzing every frame to get a better look at Vice City and its surroundings. However, one subtle clue escaped widespread notice — until now. A small piece of the map appears beneath a character in one of the screenshots, and it might reveal more than expected.
The image in question shows Brian Heder, one of the game’s NPCs, standing in a hangar. Beneath him lies what appears to be a hand-drawn map. According to fan theories circulating online, this sketch reveals a portion of the Leonida Keys, a region that’s expected to be part of the playable map.

This newfound clue has sparked fresh theories. Some players believe the Leonida Keys will play a much bigger role in the game than initially expected. “If this is the intro area, I can’t imagine what the rest of the map looks like. This world’s gonna be massive,” one fan noted on social media. Another added that this could hint at a deeper focus on water travel mechanics, which haven’t been central in recent GTA entries.
Interestingly, this map fragment might also be a nod to international travel — a rumor that’s followed GTA 6 for years. While Rockstar has yet to confirm any such detail, longtime fans haven’t ruled out the possibility of a second country or island being part of the final game world.
As per a tweet from the fan page GTA 6 Countdown, the artwork appears to show the southern tip of the map — the same area where Jason, one of the game’s protagonists, works under Brian early in the story. This aligns with other leaks and speculation about how the story and geography will intertwine.
Despite the excitement surrounding these hidden hints, Rockstar has remained relatively quiet since confirming GTA 6’s delay to May 26, 2026. The developers stated that the delay was necessary to ensure the game meets fan expectations. And while some fans were hoping for more updates soon, Take-Two’s CEO suggests earlier that Rockstar keep "marketing materials relatively close to the release window in order to create excitement," so don't expect anything until next year.
So for now, the community continues doing what it does best — dissecting every detail, frame by frame. And it seems there’s still a lot more to discover in the footage we already have.
