Game Details
Mafia: The Old Country is the fourth main entry in the Mafia series and a prequel to the original game. The game explores the origins of the Sicilian Mafia, immersing players in the brutal underworld of the era.
You play as Enzo Favara, a young man who rises from a harsh childhood of forced labor in Sicily’s sulfur mines to join the Torrisi crime family, driven by a desire for a better life. His journey is framed by the Cosa Nostra’s code of honor and the theme “Family Takes Sacrifice.”
Unlike the open-world Mafia III, this is a linear, narrative-driven third-person action-adventure, aligning more with Mafia and Mafia II.
Expect cinematic storytelling, intense combat with period-appropriate weapons (stiletto blades, lupara sawed-off shotguns), and traversal on foot, horseback, or in early motorcars. Combat includes “high-stakes, grounded stealth and gunplay mechanics.”
The game also features fully localized Sicilian voice acting to match the setting, alongside English, French, German, Spanish, Czech, and Russian dubs (Italian available as subtitles).
It’s built on Unreal Engine 5 with MetaHuman technology for lifelike visuals and micro-expressions.
Pricing has been set to $50 for the Standard Edition and $60 for the Deluxe Edition. The lower price reflects a “focused package” that doesn’t demand a massive time commitment, unlike many AAA open-world titles.
All pre-orders include the Soldato Pack (cosmetics and a passive in-game Charm). Additionally, signing up for a 2K Account will unlock the “Lupara Tradituri” engraved shotgun and “Garzia Tumulto” race car in-game.
Pre-orders are live now on Steam, PlayStation Store, and Microsoft Store.
Sadly, no PS4, Xbox One, Game Pass, or PlayStation Plus at launch. Also, no confirmation on Nintendo Switch 2 yet.
