Marvel Rivals Introduces “Giant-Size Brain Blast” Mode with Big Heads and Bigger Laughs

Marvel Rivals “Giant-Size Brain Blast”

Marvel Rivals is bringing the chaos (and comedy) with a brand-new limited-time event: Giant-Size Brain Blast, a zany twist on traditional gameplay where every hero comes with an oversized head and a whole lot of attitude. The mode goes live on April 25, 2025, with a second wave starting May 2.

This special mode is built on the Conquest format, featuring 12-player, team-deathmatch-style combat—but with one major (and hilarious) twist: all characters have massively inflated heads. It’s not just for show, either.

These cartoonish craniums mean larger headshot hitboxes, making precision heroes like Hawkeye, Black Widow, and Storm more lethal than ever.

To add to the absurdity, every kill is punctuated by a classic “honk” sound effect, dialing up the fun factor in a mode that feels like a nostalgic nod to old-school cheat codes.

Event Details

  • First Round: April 25, 2025 (9:00 AM UTC) to April 28, 2025 (12:00 AM UTC)

  • Second Round: May 2, 2025 (9:00 AM UTC) to May 5, 2025 (12:00 AM UTC)

  • Players can queue via the Rivalry section in the game menu.

Rewards

  • Brain Blast Emote: Earned by completing 10 matches. Players can choose which hero to apply the emote to, and it inflates the hero’s head during use.

  • Leaderboard Titles: Awarded based on hero-specific leaderboards at the end of each round:

    • Top 10: Planet-Sized Brain (e.g., Planet-Sized-Brain Venom)

    • Top 100: Monster-Sized Brain

    • Top 500: Giant-Sized Brain

  • Titles are hero-specific and can be equipped via the Career section’s Customize Title option.

This limited-time event coincides with Marvel Rivals Season 2: Hellfire Gala, which brings additional content including new character skins, the introduction of Emma Frost as a Vanguard hero, and a new Krakoa map.

The timing suggests NetEase is focused on keeping the game fresh with a mixture of serious competitive content and more lighthearted experiences.

The Giant-Size Brain Blast launch is part of NetEase's broader content strategy, which also includes the recent release of Art Vision Vol. 1, a video series exploring the artistic direction behind Marvel Rivals.
