Nintendo has officially confirmed its next Nintendo Direct for September 12, 2025, continuing the company’s long-running trend of fall showcases.

The presentation will run for roughly 60 minutes, delivering updates on upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch titles. While the focus will be on games launching this winter, many fans believe there could be a special segment for Super Mario Bros., as the event takes place just one day before the franchise’s 40th anniversary.

This Direct marks Nintendo’s first major presentation since April, when the company officially unveiled the Switch 2 and its initial lineup. Players are hoping for fresh release dates, new gameplay reveals, and perhaps a few unexpected announcements.

What to Expect

While Nintendo hasn’t confirmed the full lineup, much of the buzz centers on Metroid Prime 4 Beyond, which recently received an ESRB rating after being classified by South Korea’s ratings board in July — hinting that a release date could be imminent. Nintendo last showcased the game in March, reaffirming plans to launch it on both Switch and Switch 2 this year.

Adding to the speculation, popular insider SwitchForce has teased that the Direct may feature three mysterious “7” titles. Fan theories point to possibilities like Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Resident Evil 7, and Ace Attorney 7.
