Capcom’s acclaimed survival horror title Resident Evil 7 may soon be making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2, if recent insider chatter is to be believed.
The speculation kicked off when content creator Attackdabacklog posted on Twitter/X that Capcom is set to showcase a horror game for the Switch 2 during the next Nintendo Direct. Not long after, insider NWeedle added fuel to the fire by quoting a memorable line from the game’s opening, spoken by protagonist Ethan Winters’ wife, Mia: “All I can say is that if you get this, stay away!” For fans familiar with the series, that quote is a dead giveaway.
This isn’t the only hint pointing toward a big reveal. Just days earlier, insider and content creator SwitchForce discussed the upcoming Nintendo Direct — reportedly scheduled for Friday, September 12, 2025 — claiming it will feature multiple announcements, release dates, and fresh reveals. Among them, he teased, are three games tied to the number ‘7’. While the meaning wasn’t clarified, fans are speculating Resident Evil 7, along with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Soul Calibur 7, and Dragon Quest VII.
So far, neither Capcom nor Nintendo has confirmed anything, and they likely won't until a special showcase. Now, all eyes are on whether the rumored Nintendo Direct is happening this week or not.
