Original Story:
Nintendo is hosting its next Indie World Showcase on August 7, 2025, at 6:00 a.m. PT, offering around 15 minutes of updates on upcoming indie titles for both the Nintendo Switch and the Switch 2. The stream will be available on Nintendo’s official YouTube and Twitch channels.
This Indie World presentation follows several major events earlier this year, including the January Switch 2 reveal, the March and April Nintendo Directs, and the latest July 31 Partner Showcase. Nintendo also held dedicated showcases for Mario Kart World in April and Donkey Kong Bananza in June.

Now, fans are hoping this Indie World might give them something big — particularly any sign of Hollow Knight: Silksong, which has become a bit of a white whale for the Nintendo community. However, fresh leaks are dousing that excitement.
According to a new video by YouTuber SwitchForce, who accurately predicted this Indie World Showcase just days ago, Silksong is “not on the cards” for this Thursday’s presentation. He suggests that the game has outgrown the Indie World format, stating it’s likely being saved for a more prominent platform reveal — possibly at Gamescom 2025, where a playable demo is already confirmed.
He also mentions that marketing for the game has shifted toward Xbox, where it may be highlighted as part of their handheld push.
Despite the absence of Silksong, the Indie World Showcase still promises surprises. There’s speculation about Hades 2 making an appearance, especially after a mysterious update hit the game’s page last week. Nintendo has remained tight-lipped about the featured lineup, but with 15 minutes to fill, there’s potential for a few standout announcements.
As for what’s next, SwitchForce hinted at a “three-phase Direct strategy,” suggesting that after the Partner Showcase and Indie World, Nintendo might be gearing up for a major Direct later this year — likely in September, which historically lines up with their major fall presentations. That’s where fans might finally get a closer look at first-party heavyweights like Metroid Prime 4, Kirby Air Riders, The Duskbloods, and perhaps even a 2026 exclusive teased as the “one last thing.”
In the meantime, mark your clocks for the Indie World stream on August 7. Here's a quick rundown of start times around the world:
6:00 a.m. PT (U.S. West Coast)
9:00 a.m. ET (U.S. East Coast)
2:00 p.m. BST (U.K.)
3:00 p.m. CEST / South Africa
6:30 p.m. IST (India)
10:00 p.m. JST / Philippines
11:00 p.m. AEST (Australia East Coast)
2:00 a.m. NZST (New Zealand, August 8)
Whether you’re in it for the next big indie hit or just hoping for a surprise, the Indie World Showcase should be worth the watch — just maybe not for Silksong fans this time around.
