The Nintendo Switch 2 has sold 2 million units in the U.S. within just two months of its June 5 release, putting it 75% ahead of the pace set by the original Switch.

According to Circana analyst Mat Piscatella (via IGN), the strong performance in July helped push U.S. hardware spending to $384 million — the highest July total since 2008.

The Switch 2 was not only the top-selling console in July but also the best-selling system of 2025 so far, surpassing the PlayStation 5 in both units and revenue.

On the accessories side, the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller is leading the market in dollar and unit sales this year.

The console’s momentum follows its earlier milestone in June, when it became the fastest-selling game system in U.S. history with 1.6 million units sold, surpassing the PlayStation 4's 2013 record of 1.1 million.

Globally, the Switch 2 has already surpassed 6 million units, according to the latest Nintendo earnings report, with projections of 15 million units sold by the end of the fiscal year in March 2026.
