Blizzard has officially announced a major crossover between Overwatch 2 and the iconic fighting game Street Fighter 6.
The special event will begin on May 20, 2025, coinciding with Overwatch 2's Season 16 mid-season update.
This collaboration is bigger than most previous Overwatch crossovers, featuring 8 character skins rather than the usual smaller selection.
Interestingly, the announcement came during Evo Japan, one of the world's biggest fighting game tournaments.
Each skin transforms an Overwatch hero into a famous Street Fighter character. Players will be able to play as:
Hanzo dressed as Ryu
Winston as Blanka
Soldier 76 as Guile
Sigma as the villain M. Bison
Female characters getting makeovers include:
Widowmaker as Cammy
Kiriko as Juri
Juno as Chun-Li
Rounding out the collection is Zenyatta, who will appear as the stretchy fighter Dhalsim.

The reveal trailer showed these characters with colorful visual effects when attacking, similar to Street Fighter 6's Drive Rush and Drive Impact mechanics.
Blizzard has been expanding its crossover events lately, with Overwatch featuring skins from anime series and K-pop groups. Even their Diablo series is getting in on the trend with a Berserk content drop.
What remains unknown is whether this event will simply offer cosmetic items for purchase or include special in-game challenges and rewards for players to earn. Fans will have to wait until the May 20 launch to find out all the details about this exciting gaming crossover.
There is also a rumor about the game collaborating with another K-pop group, this time with the boy band TXT, but this largely remains speculative.
