Sony has officially confirmed the PlayStation Plus free games for September 2025, and the lineup brings together three very different experiences: Stardew Valley, Psychonauts 2, and Viewfinder.
All three titles will be available to download from September 2 for all tiers.
From a cozy farming life simulator to a quirky psychic adventure and a mind-bending puzzle challenge, September’s offerings reflect PlayStation’s goal of mixing indie favorites with critically acclaimed adventures.
Stardew Valley (PS4)
The beloved farming simulator remains one of the most popular indie titles even years after its release.
Players inherit their grandfather’s run-down farm, armed with just a few coins and basic tools, before gradually building it into a thriving home.
Beyond farming, Stardew Valley offers fishing, mining, crafting, community events, and even romance.
The game has maintained its strong fanbase thanks to ongoing updates and the anticipation surrounding developer ConcernedApe’s next project, The Haunted Chocolatier.
Note: Southeast Asia and Japan get Dragon Marked for Death instead of Stardew Valley.
Psychonauts 2 (PS4)
For players seeking a more adventurous journey, Psychonauts 2 delivers a narrative-rich platformer full of humor and heart.
The game follows Razputin “Raz” Aquato, a young psychic acrobat who finally joins the Psychonauts — an international spy agency of psychic agents.
With its cinematic presentation, customizable powers, and clever level design, the game takes players through bizarre and imaginative worlds. It’s a mix of comedy, mystery, and action that has been widely praised since its release.
Viewfinder (PS4, PS5)
Rounding out the trio is Viewfinder, a unique first-person puzzle adventure that challenges players to reshape reality. Using an instant camera’s viewfinder, players can bring sketches, photographs, and paintings to life, altering environments to solve puzzles.
It’s a fresh, artistic take on puzzle design that blends creativity with problem-solving, making it a standout inclusion for September.
Subscribers should also note that this is the last chance to grab August’s free games — Lies of P, DayZ, and My Hero One’s Justice 2 — before they leave the service on September 1.
