Sony Makes PlayStation Store Refunds Easier with New Update

Sony has rolled out a new update to the PlayStation Store, making the refund process simpler and more direct for players.
With this update, users no longer have to go through the old chatbot assistant, that often made refund requests feel tedious. Instead, the process can now be completed directly through the PlayStation website or the mobile app.
Players simply need to open the PlayStation Store, tap the three dots in the top-right corner to access their transaction history, and from there, select a past purchase to request a refund.
The eligibility rules, however, haven’t changed. A refund can only be requested within 14 days of purchase, and only if the game or content hasn’t been downloaded or played. The exception, as before, is faulty products, where Sony allows refunds regardless of these restrictions.
According to reports, this change comes as part of broader improvements to the PlayStation Store, which has also seen added accessibility features and Apple Pay support in recent months.
While the update might seem small, it’s a welcome one. Gamers often make impulse purchases — sometimes late at night — and having an easier way to reverse those decisions brings much-needed peace of mind. Plus, cutting out the hassle of chatbots is something most players won’t complain about.
