Sony has announced the three free games coming to PlayStation Plus subscribers in August 2026, and the lineup includes a notable day-one release alongside a beloved indie horror title.
The three games joining the monthly roster are:
Dying Light 2: Stay Human Reloaded Edition (PS5, PS4)
Big Walk (PS5)
Signalis (PS4)
All three will be available to add to your library from August 4 until August 31. As always, once you claim them, they remain playable for as long as you hold an active PlayStation Plus subscription across any tier.
In addition to the games, subscribers will also receive a special Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls PlayStation Plus Pack starting August 6, available to claim through August 6, 2027.
A Closer Look at August PS Plus Games
Dying Light 2: Stay Human Reloaded Edition is the biggest name in this month's selection. Developed and published by Techland, the original game launched in February 2022 and was received generally well, landing in the 76 to 77 range on Metacritic. The open-world first-person gameplay blends fluid parkour traversal across a massive vertical city with brutal melee combat and a day and night cycle that fundamentally changes how dangerous the world feels after dark. The Reloaded Edition, released in 2024, brought significant updates and added the game's first story DLC, Bloody Ties, making this the most complete version of the experience. Co-op is also supported, so there is good reason to rope in a friend for this one.
Big Walk is a cooperative multiplayer adventure developed by House House, the studio behind Untitled Goose Game. The focus is on communication, teamwork, and shared discovery rather than combat, and it supports cross-play online co-op. Notably, August 4 is also the game's launch date across PC, Mac, PS5, and Nintendo Switch 2, making this a genuine day-one addition to PlayStation Plus.
Signalis is a survival horror title developed by rose-engine. The game is set in a dystopian sci-fi world and draws heavily from classic survival horror design, think limited inventory, resource management, puzzle solving, and deeply unsettling atmosphere. Its pixel art visual style blended with 3D elements gives it a look entirely its own, and its storytelling, which pulls from psychological horror influences reminiscent of Resident Evil and Silent Hill, earned it widespread critical praise and multiple award nominations. According to reviews, it is widely regarded as one of the best modern indie survival horror games available. If you have somehow not played it yet, this is the perfect time.
What Is the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls PS Plus Pack?
Alongside the games, PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive a cosmetic pack for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. The pack becomes available from August 6 and includes the following:
Five Avatars based on Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls characters, featuring Captain America, Storm, Spider-Man, Doctor Doom, and Ghost Rider
A set of in-game Result Screen Character Poses featuring 20 characters, including Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, Peni Parker, and more
The pack is available to claim from August 6, 2026 through August 6, 2027, giving subscribers a full year to grab it.
What About the PS4 Games Situation?
One small but interesting detail this month: Sony had previously announced that starting in January 2026, PS4 games would no longer be a core part of the PlayStation Plus offering, with the platform holder shifting its focus toward PS5 titles. Signalis being a PS4 game in this August lineup suggests that shift has not been implemented as strictly as initially indicated. It is something to keep an eye on in the months ahead, but for now, PS4 owners are still seeing their platform represented in the monthly lineup.
And it is worth noting that July's lineup, which includes Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, For the King II, and CrossCode, is available to claim until August 4. Do not let those slip by if you have not grabbed them yet.
