PS Plus October 2026 Monthly Games Revealed
Sony has confirmed the three free games coming to PlayStation Plus Essential members in October 2026, covering racing, extraction shooting, and cooperative alien-blasting chaos.

Here is the full list:
F1 25 (PS5)
Hunt: Showdown 1896 (PS5)
Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 (PS5, PS4)
All three titles will be available to add to your library from October 6 until November 2.
As usual, once claimed, the games remain playable for as long as you hold an active PlayStation Plus subscription at any tier.
September's lineup of Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life, and Chained Echoes remains claimable until October 5, so grab those before the window closes if you have not already.
Alongside the games, subscribers will also receive a set of bonus in-game content packs and avatars tied to the Halloween season and other live-service titles.
A Closer Look at the Games
F1 25 is the headliner of the month. Developed by Codemasters and published by EA Sports, the game launched in May 2025 as the official video game of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship. It covers the full 2025 grid across modes including Career, the revamped My Team 2.0 ownership experience, Braking Point 3, and the online F1 World multiplayer hub. The handling model was notably reworked following criticism of F1 24, and the result was well received, with the game landing around 80 to 82 on Metacritic and earning an 8 out of 10 from IGN. It was also nominated for Best Sports and Racing Game at The Game Awards 2025. A 2026 season pack arrived in June, adding the new generation of smaller, more agile cars and the Madrid circuit, giving this PS Plus release a particularly current feel. Common criticisms point to its iterative nature as an annual release and occasional inconsistencies in AI behavior, but for motorsport fans, it remains one of the strongest racing sims available right now.
Hunt: Showdown 1896 is the most distinctive pick of the three. Developed and published by Crytek, Hunt: Showdown has been around since 2019 in various forms, but the 1896 overhaul that launched in August 2024 brought a significant next-gen upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series X and S. The game is a PvPvE extraction shooter set in a horror-tinged Western world, where solo players or teams of two or three track down monstrous bosses across large maps, extract with the bounty, and try to survive both the AI enemies and other hunters doing exactly the same thing. Sound, positioning, and patience matter far more than reflexes alone. As per critical reception, the 1896 update landed around 80 on OpenCritic, with praise focused on its atmosphere and tense risk-and-reward loop. That said, it carries a reputation for being brutal on newcomers, and recent Steam reviews have leaned more mixed.
Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is the most purely fun entry in October's lineup. Developed by Yuke's and published by D3Publisher, this voxel-style spin-off of the long-running Earth Defense Force series launched in the West in September 2024. The premise is exactly what it sounds like: you build a squad of up to four characters drawn from over 100 unlockable Brothers and Sisters, each with their own class and abilities, and mow down waves of giant ants, frogs, UFOs, and assorted nonsense across more than 100 short missions. It supports four-player online co-op and two-player split-screen, making it an easy game to pick up with friends. According to reviews, it sits at around 81 on Metacritic with 82 percent of critics recommending it on OpenCritic. Several reviewers called it the most polished entry in the EDF series to date, praising its accessibility and sheer volume of content.
Bonus Content This Month
October also brings a set of in-game extras for PlayStation Plus subscribers, leaning into the Halloween timing. The bonus packs include:
Spider-Man Brand New Day Avatars, included automatically with PS Plus
Call of Duty: Warzone Horror Bundle
Hunt: Showdown 1896 Starter Pack
Overwatch 2 Dragur Reinhardt skin plus 5 Tier Skips Pack
The Hunt: Showdown Starter Pack is a particularly useful addition for anyone jumping into the game for the first time this month through the PS Plus offering.
