Sony has dubbed this edition “State of Play Japan”, and it’s expected to run for just over 40 minutes. Unlike the usual format, this showcase will be hosted by voice actor Yuki Kaji, best known as the voice of Shoto Todoroki in My Hero Academia.

According to the PlayStation Blog, the event will highlight “beloved series, distinctive indie creations, and new looks at anticipated titles.”

So, what might we actually see? Based on recent chatter, there’s a good chance we’ll get updates on Phantom Blade Zero, the wuxia-inspired action RPG that’s been generating buzz since its reveal. Fans are also hoping for news on Where Winds Meet, the ambitious open-world project from Everstone Studio, which was previously confirmed as a PlayStation console exclusive.

Other names floating around include Tides of AnnihilationPetit Planetand Nioh 3. And yes, some of us are still holding out hope for a Bloodborne update, though that’s more wishful thinking than anything else.

Another strong candidate is Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, the upcoming fighter from Arc System Works in collaboration with Sony and Marvel Games. Announced earlier this year, it’s slated for a 2026 release, and this showcase could be the perfect stage for a fresh gameplay reveal. There’s also speculation around Resident Evil Requiem, which fits the “beloved series” description teased by Sony.

Sony’s last State of Play in September 2025 gave us extended looks at Marvel’s Wolverine and Housemarque’s Saros. This time, however, the spotlight is firmly on Asian studios, meaning we shouldn’t expect updates on Western-led projects like Wolverine or Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
