Skyesports has officially announced Gaming Mahotsav, a new multi-city pop culture festival aimed at merging gaming, regional identity, and youth entertainment.

Kicking off with its first edition, Gaming Thiruvizha, on August 30–31 at Chennai Trade Centre, this traveling festival is set to capture the imagination of fans across six Indian cities.

Unlike traditional gaming events, Gaming Mahotsav isn’t just about esports. It’s designed as a complete pop culture celebration—where gaming meets cosplay, anime mixes with Indian comics, and creator-led showcases bring fans and influencers together on the same stage.

Each edition will adopt a unique local flavor, making it a hyperlocal yet nationally connected experience.

The Chennai leg of the festival, Gaming Thiruvizha, will be exclusively ticketed via the KYN app, a platform focused on connecting like-minded people through city-based real-life experiences. Speaking about the partnership, Gayathri Thyagarajan, CEO of Kynhood Technologies and founder of KYN, said, “Gaming Mahotsav is more than a festival. It is a celebration of culture, creativity, and connection—values that align perfectly with what we aim to build at KYN.”

Each stop on the Gaming Mahotsav tour will feature live LAN tournaments, vibrant cosplay contests, anime screenings, music performances, and even chess championships for under-16 players.

The top young chess minds from each city will compete in a national final in Pune, giving a competitive edge to what is otherwise a very creative, fan-first event.

Here’s a breakdown of the regional editions planned:

  • Gaming Thiruvizha – Chennai (August 30–31, 2025)

  • Gaming Habba – Bengaluru (September 27–28, 2025)

  • Gaming Panduga – Hyderabad (Date TBA, 2025)

  • Gaming Mahotsav – Mumbai (Date TBA, 2025)

  • Gaming Ulsavam – Kochi (January 10–11, 2026)

  • Gaming Utsav – Pune (February 14–15, 2026)

Each edition is curated to reflect regional interests, languages, and art styles. So, whether it’s the anime fandom in Bengaluru or the comic readers in Kochi, there’s something tailored for every crowd.

Skyesports CEO and founder Shiva Nandy described the event as “a love letter to India’s pop culture fans.” He added, “This is not just a gaming event—it’s a melting pot of regional identities, fandoms, and creativity. Whether you're a hardcore gamer, anime lover, or just here to vibe, this festival is for you.”

As per the FICCI-EY 2024 report, India has over 450 million gamers, and both anime and comic readership are witnessing rapid growth.

Cosplay, one of the standout features of the event, is set to receive a national spotlight. Each city will host its own tournament judged by industry professionals, with the best talents receiving prizes and major recognition.

Meanwhile, fans can expect local merch stalls, regional art showcases, and surprise film or comic launches along the way.

Social media buzz already hints at rising anticipation, especially among Gen Z audiences who actively engage with cross-medium content—gaming one moment, music the next, and a live stream in between.

With Skyesports already running India qualifiers for global tournaments like Excel Esports, this new IP adds a much-needed cultural layer to its portfolio. It’s not just about the game anymore; it’s about the community, the creators, and the culture surrounding it.

If successful, Gaming Mahotsav could become India’s answer to international events like Gamescom, PAX, Comic-Con, DreamHack, UniCon, or Tokyo Game Show—platforms that started small regional events but became global phenomena.
