Capcom has officially confirmed a new crossover between Street Fighter 6 and K-pop girl group aespa, following a surprise leak earlier this month.

The news was made public via a teaser image shared on Street Fighter's official social media channels on June 13. Although the announcement didn’t go into much detail, the poster confirmed that the collaboration is real.

Before that, on June 4th, players noticed an unexpected costume for the character Juri in Street Fighter 6’s V-Rivals mode. The outfit, heavily inspired by aespa’s style, sparked conversations online, particularly on Reddit & X, where screenshots quickly spread. Capcom responded by temporarily disabling Juri’s selection in the mode and later explained that the costume’s early appearance was a bug. Despite their efforts to quietly patch it out, the reveal had already sparked interest.

So far, Capcom hasn’t shared a release date or full content details for the Street Fighter 6 x aespa event. However, based on the leak, it’s safe to expect that Juri—and possibly other characters—will receive aespa-themed outfits.

For those unfamiliar, aespa is a four-member K-pop group from South Korea—Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning—who debuted in 2020 with their hit single Black Mamba. Known for blending hyperpop, hip-hop, and metaverse concepts, the group quickly rose to international fame. While they’ve worked with fashion brands and tech companies before, this marks their first collaboration with a major video game franchise.

Crossovers aren’t new territory for Street Fighter. The iconic fighting series, which has been around for over 35 years, has partnered with various other franchises in the past. From Mega Man and Monster Hunter to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Capcom has often embraced pop culture through in-game events and cosmetic content. Most recently, Overwatch 2 featured a Street Fighter-themed collaboration with hero skins inspired by the game’s classic fighters.

K-pop and gaming have also formed a strong bond over the years, and that bond is only getting stronger. Earlier this year, PUBG Mobile featured a collaboration with BABYMONSTER, while Overwatch 2 teamed up with LE SSERAFIM. And then there’s Jennie from BLACKPINK, whose solo track Zen was featured in the Summer Game Fest 2025 trailer. Her vocals added emotional weight to the showcase, blending seamlessly with visuals from titles like Death Stranding 2 and Neverway.

Capcom’s move to bring aespa into Street Fighter 6 taps into this growing trend.
