Capcom confirmed during the September 2025 Nintendo Direct that Resident Evil Requiem, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, and Resident Evil Village will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on February 27, 2026.
This announcement brings three of the series’ most notable entries to Nintendo’s new console, with Requiem marking the latest mainline addition to the long-running survival horror franchise.
Release Details
All three titles will arrive on Switch 2 simultaneously, with Resident Evil Requiem launching across multiple platforms on the same date.
Capcom also confirmed that the Switch 2 editions of Resident Evil 7 and Village will be their Gold Edition releases, meaning players will get access to all additional story and gameplay content bundled in. For those who missed out on expansions like Village’s Shadows of Rose or Biohazard’s End of Zoe, this is essentially the complete package.
The new trailer shown during the Direct offered the first extended look at Resident Evil Requiem. According to Capcom’s official description, players will “return to a ruined, abandoned Raccoon City in a thrilling survival horror experience” that leans heavily on the series’ hallmarks: tense combat, puzzle-solving, investigative elements, and the constant need to manage limited resources.
Historically, mainline Resident Evil titles have only sporadically appeared on Nintendo platforms, with Switch ports often relying on cloud streaming. The Switch 2 versions, however, are native releases, making them more accessible to players who prefer handheld or offline play.
