Capcom’s Resident Evil series could be making a big splash on Nintendo’s new console.
According to a new claim from well-known insider Dusk Golem on X (formerly Twitter), developers have been working on bringing multiple RE Engine titles to the Nintendo Switch 2 — and not just the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem.
Reports suggest that Requiem will also launch on PlayStation 4, but the bigger news here is that the Switch 2 ports might include nearly every major RE Engine entry. That means we could be looking at Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil Village, and Requiem all running natively on Nintendo’s new hardware. If true, this would be a huge leap from the cloud-based versions we saw on the original Switch.
Dusk Golem claims the team has been working on these ports “for a hot minute now” and that they’ll arrive “sooner or later.”
Insider also mentioned hearing — through the grapevine — that a Nintendo Direct could happen this week (which is now confirmed), with Resident Evil 7 potentially making an appearance. However, they were quick to clarify that they don’t have direct insight into Capcom’s marketing plans, so it’s best to treat this as speculation for now.
