Ever since Stellar Blade was announced as Project EVE, one of the game’s biggest talking points has been its protagonist, Eve — not just her combat skills, but her unmistakably striking design. While the game has gone through numerous visual upgrades over the years, the real-world models behind Eve have also shifted. So, will Shin Jae-eun return as the body model for Eve? Or has Shift Up moved on?
Here’s a full breakdown of what we know so far about Eve’s real-life inspirations and what that could mean for the sequel.
Shin Jae-eun: The Original Eve

Back in 2020, Stellar Blade developer Shift Up revealed that they had used a 3D body scan of South Korean model Shin Jae-eun to create the original body model of Eve. When the game was released in mid-2024, the character design sparked controversy online, with many calling it unrealistic — only for that criticism to be debunked when Jae-eun was confirmed as the physical reference.
Her scan helped craft the sleek, anatomically accurate figure of Eve that players met in early trailers and the final game. However, as time went on, the studio’s creative direction began to evolve.
The Rise of Yoon Seolhwa

In late 2024, with the release of new DLCs like NieR: Automata and Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, a new face (and body) entered the spotlight: Yoon Seolhwa, a South Korean model and cosplayer. Shift Up scanned her body for Eve’s updated outfits — starting with the FourSeconds Everyday Wear and later including the White Pearl and other stylized skins.
On June 4, Seolhwa confirmed her involvement personally on social media, even posting a selfie in the new outfit with the caption, “That’s my body.” She went on to reveal that the shoot had taken place years earlier and she’d been working with Shift Up since at least 2023.
Her connection to Eve has only deepened — she will also appear in the upcoming NIKKE: Goddess of Victory crossover expansion and is strongly rumored to continue as the body model in Stellar Blade 2, which is already in development.

What About Shin Jae-eun?
As of now, there’s no official word from Shift Up about whether Shin Jae-eun will return to model for Stellar Blade 2. While she was the foundational body reference for the original Eve, it seems the studio has gradually transitioned to Seolhwa for newer content. With a next-gen 3D body capture system now in place and a sequel in the works, it’s likely that Shift Up is aiming for consistency — and Seolhwa may now be the default moving forward.
That doesn’t necessarily mean Shin Jae-eun is out of the picture. It’s possible she could return for future scans, flashback scenes, or alternative outfit designs. But judging by current updates and social posts, the torch appears to have passed — at least for now.
But as Shift Up continues to expand the universe with more updates and a PC launch on June 12, 2025, anything’s possible.
