WWE 2K26 is set to launch on March 13, 2025, bringing the popular wrestling franchise to multiple platforms, including the Nintendo Switch 2.
The release date comes from known leaker Billbil-kun, with Insider Gaming independently confirming the game's arrival on Nintendo's next-generation console. For those picking up the physical Switch 2 version, the game is expected to come as a game-key card rather than a traditional cartridge.
Platforms and Availability
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S confirmed
Nintendo Switch 2 confirmed, with game-key card format for physical copies
PC mentioned in reports, but not fully detailed
PlayStation 4 and Xbox One status remains uncertain
Last year’s WWE 2K25 did release on last-gen consoles, but it was treated as a scaled-down version, missing features such as The Island. Whether WWE 2K26 will continue support for older hardware is still unclear.
Gameplay Features and Editions
As per earlier reports, CM Punk will headline the Showcase Mode, giving fans a chance to relive key moments from his career. WWE 2K26 will also expand gameplay with several new and returning features:
Four match types: Dumpster Match debut; Inferno Match, I Quit Match, and 3 Stages of Hell returning
Draft system included in Universe Mode
Intergender matches available in MyFaction
Shopping carts usable during matches
Overhauled reversal system
Pre-orders for WWE 2K26 open on January 30.
Triple H Takes Center Stage

2K Games confirmed that Paul “Triple H” Levesque will be on the cover of the Deluxe Edition, titled the “King of Kings Edition.” While Triple H has appeared on covers before, this marks the first time he is featured solo. His history with WWE video games stretches back to WWF In Your House in 1996, and he has been a regular presence ever since.
Triple H also appears on other editions of WWE 2K26. The Attitude Era Edition features him alongside Shawn Michaels, Chyna, and other D-Generation X members.
Meanwhile, the Monday Night War Edition showcases him with legends like Steve Austin, The Rock, Undertaker, Chyna, and Kurt Angle, highlighting the iconic WWE vs. WCW rivalry of the late 1990s.
Some Hidden Clues

WWE 2K26’s official website has also teased additional content through cryptic imagery. Items such as a calendar, a pet iguana, 6-pack cans, a WrestleMania tombstone, VHS tapes, a dumpster, a chair, candles, and a microphone were shown. These could hint at:
AAA superstar Mr. Iguana joining the roster
New cosmetic outfits for custom characters
The Draft in Universe Mode
Improvements to Universe Mode, possibly with voiced promos
Dumpster matches and Inferno Matches, as mentioned earlier
Fans will not have to wait long, as January 30 will bring the full reveal of WWE 2K26, confirming which rumors are true and what surprises 2K Games has in store.
