Xbox Confirms Big Gamescom 2026 Lineup With Call of Duty, Fable, and Gears of War Leading the Charge

Xbox is heading to Gamescom 2026, and this time it's a big one. The company is celebrating 25 years of the Xbox brand at the show, and it's bringing a stacked lineup to prove it still has plenty of fight left in it.
It lays out a packed booth full of first looks, hands-on demos, and a few surprises for fans who can't make the trip to Cologne, Germany.
What Games Are Showing Up At Gamescom?
According to the Xbox Wire post, some of the biggest names in gaming will take center stage this year. That includes:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4
Gears of War: E-Day
Minecraft Dungeons II
METRO 2039
Stranger Than Heaven
Fable
Halo: Campaign Evolved
Alien: Isolation 2
Forza Horizon 6
Gears of War: E-Day is a big deal here since it marks the first time fans get to go hands-on with the campaign. Players will get an early look at the brutal roots of the Locust War, along with the start of the bond between Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago. The game is set to release on October 6, 2026.
Fable is also getting special treatment. Playground Games will run a live demo theater presentation, its first ever for the title, showing off real gameplay in front of the crowd. The game is set to launch in 2027.
Stranger Than Heaven, a new title from Like A Dragon series developer RGG Studio, is bringing a demo to Gamescom. The game will be released on January 15th, 2027, and will feature many celebrities, including Snoop Dogg, Ado, Tori Kelly, and Tupac.Â
METRO 2039 is also getting hands-on time, ahead of its February 2027 release.
How Can Fans Watch From Home?
Not everyone can fly out to Germany, and Xbox knows that. The company will run live broadcasts straight from its booth, packed with interviews, gameplay reveals, new trailers, and special guest appearances.

The booth is also being built with accessibility in mind. Xbox Adaptive Controllers will be available on request, and there will be a quiet room along with sensory items for players who need a calmer environment. ASL, BSL, and DGS interpreters, along with audio descriptions in English and German, will be available at the booth from 12pm to 5pm daily.
To top it off, Xbox FanFest returns on Wednesday, August 26 from 8pm to 11pm CEST, giving fans a shot at winning tickets through a sweepstakes announced on Xbox's official social channels.
