It’s official. EA and DICE have confirmed the name and release date of their long-rumored free-to-play battle royale for Battlefield 6. The new title is called Battlefield: RedSec, and it’s arriving sooner than many expected, with a global launch set for October 28, 2025.

The reveal comes just weeks after the release of Battlefield 6, which sold over 7 million copies in just three days. Fans had already been speculating about a battle royale mode, especially after leaks earlier this weekend suggested the name “RedSec” and hinted at a shadowdrop. Now, those rumors have been proven true.
If this feels familiar, it’s because we’ve seen a similar playbook before. When Call of Duty: Warzone launched back in 2020, it quickly became a cultural phenomenon. EA clearly hopes to capture that same energy with RedSec, offering a standalone, free-to-play experience tied to the Battlefield universe.
Launch Details and Global Times
According to the official Battlefield X (formerly Twitter) account, RedSec will go live on October 28 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET / 3 PM GMT. Here’s how that translates across regions:
Los Angeles: 8:00 AM PT
New York: 11:00 AM ET
London: 3:00 PM GMT
Berlin / Paris: 4:00 PM CET
Dubai: 7:00 PM GST
Mumbai / Delhi: 8:30 PM IST
Singapore: 11:00 PM SGT
Tokyo: 12:00 Midnight JST (next day)
Sydney: 2:00 AM AEDT (next day)
What to Expect at Launch
While EA hasn’t shared every detail yet, reports suggest RedSec will initially feature Duos and Squads as its only modes. That means you’ll be able to drop in with a partner or a team of four, but solo play and larger team formats may come later.
A gameplay trailer is also scheduled to premiere at launch at the same time on the official Battlefield YouTube channel, giving us our first proper look at how RedSec plays.
The battle royale will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, the same platforms as Battlefield 6.
It will also launch alongside Season 1 of BF6, bringing new maps, modes, weapons, and content updates to keep players engaged.
