Kingdom Come Deliverance II has officially hit the 5 million sales mark within its first year since launch.
The medieval RPG was developed by Warhorse Studios and published by Deep Silver (under Embracer Group).
The game launched on February 4, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, and the reception was immediate. In just 24 hours, KCD II sold over 1 million copies, and within three months, sales soared past 3 million.
According to Embracer Group's third-quarter fiscal report for 2025, KCD II emerged as the top performer among all reported products. The game ranks among the top5 PC and console products, driving sales for Embracer across both platforms.
The publisher noted that the title "performed well ahead of expectations."
The first Kingdom Come Deliverance, which released back in 2018, has sold 10 million copies as of May 2025. This means the sequel has already achieved half of its predecessor's lifetime sales in just one year.
The commercial success isn't just about numbers though. KCD II received critical acclaim throughout the year, earning PC Gamer's Game of the Year award and Best Game of 2025 at the Central & Eastern European Game Awards (CEEGA).
The game also landed three nominations at The Game Awards 2025, including the prestigious Game of the Year category.
Additionally, it's among the nominees for Foreign Game of the Year at the Swedish Game Awards 2026, and won the Shacknews Award for Best Open World Game of 2025.
To commemorate the first anniversary, Warhorse Studios and Deep Silver partnered with Saber Interactive to release an enhanced version of the original Kingdom Come Deliverance for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Existing PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners received the upgrade completely free. Physical version is releasing on May 15th, 2026.
The enhanced update brings 60 FPS performance, quality settings, improved visual assets, and enhanced graphical features.
The enhanced version is available on Xbox Game Pass too.
Players who dive into Kingdom Come Deliverance II during the anniversary celebrations will also receive personalized infographics documenting their unique adventures through Bohemia.
The Kingdom Come Deliverance Saga Bundle is also available digitally for $99.99, but it's currently 50% off, bringing the price down to $49.99. It includes the Royal Edition of both games in the series.
