Stellar Blade Patch 1.2.0 Brings New Tracks, Early Hard Mode Access, and Much-Needed Fixes on PC

Stellar Blade Patch 1.2.0
Stellar Blade

A fresh update for Stellar Blade has rolled out on PC, bringing a mix of new content, technical improvements, and much-needed bug fixes. Patch 1.2.0, weighing in at around 4.9 GB, is now live.

One of the more notable changes is the immediate availability of Hard Mode. Previously, players had to progress a bit before unlocking the tougher difficulty, but now it’s accessible right from the start — including for Boss Challenge. For those who found the base difficulty a bit too forgiving, this update is a welcome change.

Alongside the difficulty update, Shift Up has also added seven newly arranged background tracks. These remixed tunes are based on existing in-game music and can be picked up from The Last Gulp in Xion. Titles like “Flooded Commercial Sector (Trio)” and “White Night (Trio)” now have a fresh twist, giving the soundtrack a bit more variety.

On the technical side, the update introduces a handy save file recovery feature. If your save gets corrupted, the game will now offer the option to restore a backup when launched. There’s also an update to the graphics settings menu, which now shows both your current and expected VRAM usage. This should make it easier for players to fine-tune visuals without overloading their systems.

As per the full patch notes shared by Shift Up, the team has tackled several bugs that were causing headaches for players. These include:

  • A fix for a bug in the “Where Is The Fantastic Bait?” quest where bait wouldn’t appear properly.

  • A fix for the Demogorgon boss fight, where the camera could swing out of place, making aiming impossible.

  • A recurring issue where EVE’s gun vanished after using Burst Skills in the NIKKE minigame.

  • Crashes in Photo Mode, and a glitch with AZERTY keyboards not allowing logo rotation.

The patch also resolves some outfit-related issues, such as the “Planet Diving Suit” reverting to the default skin in certain modes. Players who unlocked that suit via PlayStation Network can now grab an upgraded design pattern in Roxanne’s shop when starting New Game+.

If you’re someone who enjoys Steam collectibles, there’s more good news. The patch coincides with the release of new Stellar Blade items on the Steam Points Shop — including badges, trading cards, stickers, and animated backgrounds.

Stellar Blade has been a breakout success since landing on PC last month. According to reports, it sold over one million copies within just three days, and with updates like this, it's clear Shift Up is keeping up the momentum. While there’s no confirmation on a Nintendo Switch 2 release yet, reports suggest the studio is considering the possibility..

The new update will automatically download the next time you launch Steam. For a closer look at everything included, the full patch notes is below:.
