Embark Studios has confirmed that the PlayStation 4 version of THE FINALS will officially shut down on March 18, 2026, coinciding with the launch of the game’s tenth season. The decision marks the end of support for Sony’s last‑gen console, as the studio shifts focus entirely to current‑generation hardware.

THE FINALS originally debuted on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam in December 2023, before arriving on PS4 a year later in December 2024. That means the PS4 edition will have been active for just over a year when service ends.
For those who’ve played on PS4, it’s a bittersweet announcement, but Embark has reassured players that progress and purchases will carry over through their Embark ID. In other words, you won’t lose your hard‑earned cosmetics or stats if you decide to continue on PS5, Xbox Series, or PC.
This move also reflects a broader industry trend. Just earlier this month, PUBG announced the end of service for PS4 and Xbox One, shifting its focus to current‑gen consoles. As developers push for more demanding features, older systems are gradually being left behind.
