Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has surpassed Elden Ring to become the most awarded Game of the Year title in gaming history, securing 437 GOTY awards from various outlets worldwide.

According to tracking data compiled by ResetEra user Angie, Expedition 33 edged past FromSoftware's critically acclaimed Elden Ring, which previously held the record with 435 Game of the Year wins.

The accolades have poured in from some of gaming's most prestigious outlets and ceremonies. Major publications, including IGN, GameSpot, Famitsu, GamesRadar+, Game Rant, and Esquire, all crowned Expedition 33 as their top game of 2025.

The title also took home the coveted trophy at Geoff Keighley's The Game Awards, arguably the industry's biggest night. Beyond critic awards, the game resonated strongly with players as well, earning Reader's Choice Game of the Year honors from communities at Insider Gaming, Destructoid, and Game Informer, among others.

Angie also noted that the game has secured more Players’ Choice awards than any other title, with 125 wins compared to The Last of Us Part II’s 115, Elden Ring’s 97, and Baldur's Gate III's 89.
