Blitz Royale, Fortnite’s fast-paced spin on its classic battle royale formula, might not be going anywhere anytime soon. According to new leaks from reliable dataminers, the mode may remain in the game for at least the next two years — suggesting Epic Games is gearing up to make Blitz Royale a long-term or even permanent addition to Fortnite.

A Two-Year Extension Hinted by In-Game Quests

While Epic Games hasn’t officially confirmed anything just yet, several Fortnite insiders, including well-known leakers HYPEX and ShiinaBR, have spotted some telling changes. In particular, they noticed that a batch of Blitz Royale quests has now been extended all the way to 2027. For a mode that was initially released as a limited-time feature in June 2025, this is a massive leap — and a strong indication that Epic is planning to keep it around for the foreseeable future.

As always, since this information hasn’t been formally announced by Epic, it’s worth taking with a grain of salt. But given the reliable track record of these leakers — who accurately revealed the previous four-week extension for Blitz Royale, as well as content updates like Star Wars and superhero-themed seasons — the claim carries significant weight.

The Blitz Royale Formula That Hooked Players

Blitz Royale made its debut via a Summer Break Update in June and immediately became one of Fortnite’s most-played modes. The concept is simple but addictive: a smaller map, no building, 32 players, and five-minute matches. Every player starts with a random medallion or special weapon, and as they eliminate opponents and survive the storm, they level up, gaining access to stronger gear and unique power-ups.

Unlike the main Battle Royale mode, Blitz keeps things moving fast, which has helped it become a go-to for players looking for quick, intense action. The gameplay loop is made even more engaging with elements like Golden Chests, Golden Supply Drops, and rotating mythics from popular collaborations — such as One Piece, Demon Slayer, and Dragon Ball.

In more recent updates, Blitz Royale has also received Mega City, a new map location that brings a futuristic, urban feel to the condensed Blitz arena.
