What games are expected to appear?
The headline reveal is Housemarque’s Saros, often described as a spiritual successor to Returnal. Sony has confirmed nearly five minutes of PS5 gameplay will be shown, offering our first real look at how the studio is evolving its roguelike shooter formula. First teased earlier this year with a cinematic trailer, Saros introduces a new protagonist played by actor Rahul Kohli and is currently targeting a 2026 release.
Insomniac’s Wolverine and Venom projects
According to industry insider Tom Henderson, Insomniac’s upcoming Wolverine could take center stage during this event. The game remains on track for a 2026 launch, with Henderson noting that Insomniac is prioritizing it as the studio’s next major release after Spider-Man 2. Reports also suggest a standalone Venom game is in development, though Wolverine remains the top priority. Whether we’ll get just a trailer, gameplay, or even a surprise Venom teaser remains to be seen.
God of War in Egypt?
There’s also plenty of chatter about the next mainline God of War. Multiple reports suggest the series will shift from Norse mythology to an Egyptian setting, with Kratos potentially wielding a curved blade resembling a khopesh. While Santa Monica Studio has not confirmed this, fans point out that Egyptian references have popped up in God of War lore and comics before. If the rumors are true, this could mark a major transition following the conclusion of the Norse saga in Ragnarök.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3
Square Enix’s long-awaited Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 may also appear. The final entry in the trilogy has been in full development, with director Naoki Hamaguchi and producer Yoshinori Kitase confirming earlier this year that the main scenario is complete. While no release date has been shared, the game is confirmed to be multiplatform on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch, unlike its predecessors, which launched first as PlayStation exclusives. Some fans speculate a 2027 release could align with the 30th anniversary of the original game.
