Microsoft has officially rolled out its latest Xbox Series X/S price increases across Europe and the UK.

Back in June 2026, Xbox confirmed that console prices would increase starting August 1. At the time, however, the company only revealed the updated pricing for the United States.

Now that the new pricing has taken effect, the full extent of the increase in Europe and the UK has also been revealed. The changes are even steeper than many expected, with some Xbox Series X models becoming €200 more expensive in Europe and £170 more expensive in the UK.

How Much Have Xbox Console Prices Increased?

Players in Europe are now paying €150 more for the 512GB models, while every 1TB Xbox Series X and Series S model has received a €200 price increase.

The UK has also seen substantial increases. The 512GB models are now £130 more expensive, while 1TB models have jumped by £170.

Microsoft had already increased Xbox console prices twice in 2025 (in May and October). With this latest adjustment, the Xbox Series X disc edition now costs $300 more in the US than it did when it launched in 2020. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series S is now roughly 50% more expensive than its original launch price.

For players who were waiting for holiday discounts or long term price drops, the opposite has happened. Instead of becoming more affordable over time, Xbox hardware continues to get more expensive.

In its June statement, Xbox pointed to ongoing supply issues affecting the electronics industry.

"We hoped another price increase would not be necessary, and we have spent the last several months working with suppliers on options. Unfortunately, console storage and memory prices have increased by more than 2.5x, and we expect another doubling by the fall of 2027. The entire consumer electronics industry is struggling with the current components crisis, but the effects are particularly hard on consoles. Unlike phones, computers, speakers, and other consumer devices, consoles are typically not sold at a profit, but instead for less than they cost to make."

Microsoft is not alone in increasing console prices. Earlier in April 2026, Sony also announced major price hikes for the PlayStation 5 lineup. Meanwhile, Valve introduced its console, the Steam Machine, with a hefty price tag of over $1000.
