Netflix Games is preparing for another major shake-up this December, with several popular titles set to depart the service. The biggest name on the list is Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which will no longer be playable through Netflix starting December 12, 2025. For fans who’ve enjoyed revisiting CJ’s story on mobile, this marks the end of one of Netflix’s most successful gaming experiments.

San Andreas has been a standout performer since joining Netflix in December 2023 as part of the GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition. While GTA III and Vice City left the platform last year, San Andreas remained thanks to its immense popularity. According to Appmagic estimates, the game has been downloaded more than 57 million times, making it Netflix’s most-installed title to date.
But San Andreas isn’t the only game leaving. Sid Meier’s Civilization VI will also be leaving Netflix’s mobile games library on December 4. Added in December 2024, the beloved turn-based strategy game offered subscribers unlimited empire-building fun, featuring all six content packs along with the Rise and Fall and Gathering Storm expansions
Here's the full list of games labeled as ‘leaving soon’ in the iOS app store:
Leaving Soon:
Reigns: Three Kingdoms (November 30)
Civilization VI (December 4)
Scriptic (December 7)
Leaving on December 8:
Dungeon Boss: Respawned
Dust & Neon
Rival Pirates

Sports Sports
Townsmen – A Kingdom Rebuilt
Wonderputt Forever
Leaving on December 12:
GTA: San Andreas
Kentucky Route Zero
Twelve Minutes
This follows Netflix’s earlier removal of 22 games this summer. The removals highlight the challenges of subscription-based gaming. Unlike Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus, once a game leaves Netflix, it becomes unplayable—you can’t buy it separately or carry over your save data. For San Andreas, players can still purchase the mobile version directly from app stores, but Netflix saves won’t transfer.
On the brighter side, Netflix is adding new titles to fill the gap. Starting December 2, Red Dead Redemption will join the service with a full mobile port, alongside several party and kids’ games. Netflix Games president Alain Tascan has stressed that the company is committed to gaming long-term, focusing on mainstream, narrative, party, and kids’ experiences.
