Let's break down the numbers.

  • Net sales: ¥115.3 billion ($748 million), up 29.8% year-on-year

  • Operating income: ¥54.3 billion ($352 million), up 75.1% year-on-year

  • Net income: ¥38.8 billion ($251 million), up 68.6% year-on-year

Digital Contents Leading the Charge

The Digital Contents division was the real star performer here. This segment pulled in ¥73.4 billion ($477.3 million) in net sales, up 25.4% from the previous year.

The company credits much of this success to its "catalog titles" strategy, particularly focusing on its flagship franchises like Resident Evil and Street Fighter.

Speaking of Resident Evil, the franchise got a nice boost from the announcement of Resident Evil Requiem, which is set to launch on February 27, 2026. The anticipation around this new title helped "drive sales for existing games in the series." Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Village saw particularly strong performance during this period.

The mobile front also delivered good news. Resident Evil Survival Unit, which launched in November, crossed the 3 million download mark. Even more impressive, the game hit one million downloads within just 24 hours of release.

Street Fighter 6 surpassed 6 million units in cumulative global sales, getting a nice push from its release on the Nintendo Switch 2. The company has been actively coordinating its games with esports activities (via Street Fighter League), which is clearly paying off in terms of brand recognition and player engagement.

Monster Hunter and Devil May Cry Deliver

Monster Hunter Wilds reached 11 million units in cumulative sales following its February 2025 launch. However, there's an interesting trend here. The game is actually lagging behind Monster Hunter Rise in quarterly sales, despite Rise being five years old.

That said, both Monster Hunter Rise and its expansion, Sunbreak, kept climbing in unit sales. These catalog titles are proving their staying power in Capcom's lineup.

Devil May Cry 5 also had a strong showing. The company implemented smart pricing strategies that coordinated with the Netflix adaptation of the series.

Total Sales and Performance Breakdown

Overall, Capcom's Digital Content segment moved 34.64 million units during the nine-month period. That's up from 30.53 million units in the same period last year. The company distributed 247 titles across 238 countries and regions.

Beyond Gaming

The company also expanded its physical presence during this period. New store openings included Capcom Store Sendai in April and Capcom Connect Space in Osaka in July. The latter features an immersive experience called Dive! Capcom. By the end of the period, Capcom operated 59 locations.

What's Coming Next

Capcom has a solid release schedule ahead. Resident Evil Requiem drops on February 27, followed by Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection on March 13, and Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection on March 27.
