The 20-year-old streamer, whose chaotic energy has become his trademark, seems to be the next big name Epic Games is eyeing for collaboration.
The speculation heated up after fellow creator Kai Cenat reportedly leaked a Discord group chat titled “IShowSpeed x Fortnite Collab” while on stream. With Kai’s own Fortnite skin reveal scheduled for later today, many believe Speed’s announcement could follow closely behind.
Now, why does this matter? For one, IShowSpeed—real name Darren Watkins Jr.—is no stranger to Fortnite. In fact, Fortnite was one of the very first games he streamed as a teenager in Ohio, alongside NBA 2K. Back then, his high-energy reactions, especially when losing, quickly made him a viral sensation.
Over the years, Speed’s connection to Fortnite only deepened. He has streamed countless hours of the game, often alongside Kai Cenat. The duo even pulled off a 57-hour Fortnite OG Season Two stream in late 2024, followed by a marathon 10-hour run before Super Bowl LIX earlier this year, where they finally secured a Battle Royale win.
From a business standpoint, the move makes sense too. Epic’s Icon Series has always been about spotlighting pop culture figures, not just professional gamers. Since Marshmello kicked things off in Chapter 1 Season 7, we’ve seen big names like Ninja, Travis Scott, and most recently, Kai Cenat. When Kai’s skin was revealed, some players questioned his connection to the game, but creators like Ninja defended the strategy, reminding fans that the Icon Series is about cultural impact as much as gameplay.
So, what could we expect from an IShowSpeed collab? Based on leaks and fan discussions, a custom skin with his signature red-and-black style or even a variant inspired by his ongoing “Speed Does America” tour seems likely. Emotes are another obvious addition—many fans want versions of his over-the-top reactions, like his trademark scream or chaotic victory celebrations. Other possibilities include a microphone pickaxe, a tour bus glider, or even a Jam Track featuring Speed’s voice.
Pricing would probably follow the standard bundle model at around 2,000 to 2,500 V-Bucks, which includes skin, emotes, and accessories. Considering Fortnite’s history of tying these collaborations to larger events, it wouldn’t be surprising if the collab drops around the upcoming Fortnitemares update.
With 43 million YouTube subscribers, a viral streaming style, and the title of Rolling Stone’s Most Influential Creator of 2025, IShowSpeed feels like a natural fit for the Icon Series. Whether Epic confirms it today or in the coming weeks, it’s clear fans are already hyped.
