Epic Games has officially unveiled the complete Fortnite update schedule for 2026 through their Trello roadmap, giving players a comprehensive look at when they can expect new content throughout the year.

The battle royale juggernaut is currently deep into Chapter 7, with Season 35 "Pacific Break" bringing Hollywood-inspired content to the island since its launch on November 30, 2025. Players have been enjoying collaborations with iconic films like Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction, alongside several new locations that have reshaped the map.

Now, with the newly updated Creator Roadmap, the community has something even bigger to discuss.

The 2026 schedule kicks off with an update on January 9 and continues with releases planned for January 22, February 5, and February 19.

According to the roadmap, updates will generally arrive every two weeks, though there are some interesting gaps that have caught the community's attention. March brings updates on the 5th and 29th, followed by three April dates—the 1st, 16th, and 30th. The schedule continues through May, June, and into the summer months with updates in July, August, and September before wrapping up the year with October, November, and December releases.

One particularly noticeable break appears between June 18 and July 16, which aligns perfectly with Epic Games' traditional summer hiatus.

The community is already deep into speculation mode. According to Hypex, Chapter 7 Season 2 is expected to launch around March 5 and run until approximately April 29.

That April 30 update? It's widely believed to feature Star Wars content, continuing Fortnite's beloved tradition of celebrating May the Fourth with lightsaber-wielding chaos. Players have been requesting lightsaber pickaxes for years now, and many believe 2026 might finally deliver on that dream.

The fall schedule gets particularly interesting when you look at the patterns. For the past three years, Fortnite has introduced a mini-season in November, and the community expects this tradition to continue. If that holds true, players might see a special limited-time season running between October 29 and November 28.

This is where things get really exciting. Hypex and many other dataminers predict that Chapter 8 could officially launch on November 28, approximately one week after the anticipated release of GTA 6 on November 19.

The year wraps up with a December 10 update that's almost guaranteed to bring back Winterfest, complete with the cozy holiday lodge, free daily rewards, festive weapons and cosmetics, and of course, themed collaborations. After that update drops, Epic typically heads into their Christmas break before returning fresh in the new year.

While the roadmap provides a solid framework for what's coming, Fortnite has always thrived on surprises. Unannounced collaborations, experimental gameplay mechanics, and unexpected live events have a habit of appearing outside the official schedule, keeping players on their toes.

Speaking of collaborations, rumors are already swirling about potential crossovers coming in 2026. According to community sources, players might see content from South Park arriving soon, Resident Evil dropping in March, and waves of returning collaborations for properties like Ninjago and streamer IShowSpeed. The rumor mill also suggests possible appearances from Crash Bandicoot, Fallout's Lucy, and even Wicked, though these remain unconfirmed.
